I consoled my friend today

I rubbed  her hand trying to erase the memory

She cried unashamed in public as we tried to eat

A friend I never knew to be weak.

She has always been there for me

She has been that one girlfriend I seek

My friend cried because her husband had seek

To confide in another who was weak.

He has crossed the bounds of their love with another

Another who calls my friend ‘bitch’ and ‘dirty’

Only because her husband gave that woman such authority!

Oh, why, why, must we commit such hurtful crimes

We hurt the ones we love just for a moment in time

With someone who pretend to care.

But if they had, they would never be there, they would never accept his pitiful cry

About the woman wife in his life.

Tis all so mixed up, all so true

That infidelity can break the strongest heart in two.

How much would be saved, health and love and family,

If only we can be honest and open and talk as when we had first meet.
