She is just one and lots of fun,
She has figured out how to climb but not that she should not fall,
Runs around without one care, she never despairs.
Sweet innocence in her smile, as she reaches out to dangers unknown,
Dances when her food comes by, even laughs and pretends to cry.
Only one, she doing all these things, much less when she turns three.
Exploring without fear no need for company, is how we too should be,
But that can only turn to calamity with everyone not being so free.
Her smile strengthens something inside of me.
